A rough diamond is not much like a diamond. If you do not know what a rough diamond looks like, you will hardly be able to assess its authenticity, distinguish it from other precious or non-precious stones. Basically, it's just a gem found in the ground. It is not processed in any way.
It can have a strange, unusual shape, it does not shine - absolutely or almost. As a rule, this is a stone that is not brightly colored, but includes, as it were, diluted shades - slightly yellowish, sandy or brown. There are completely transparent diamonds, but they are a minority.
After the extraction of rough diamonds, their fate can be radically different: -high-quality diamonds are sent for cutting, and jewelry will be made from them; -low-quality diamonds are sent to industry, where, due to their physical characteristics, they are in great demand.
